What is Reiki?

Reiki is a beautiful, gentle, simple yet powerful system that helps balance the body’s energies, enhancing the body’s own natural ability to heal itself.

‘Reiki’ is a Japanese word, meaning ‘Universal Life Energy’. ‘Ki’ Chi’ ‘Qi’ or ‘Prana’ are all different words for the vital life force or energy that flows through all life and living things, recognised by different cultures across the ages. It is accessible to everyone, and there is no faith, religion or dogma attached.

It’s not rocket science either – anyone can ‘learn’ how to use this wonderful discipline, and it can be used by all living things to balance energies and promote well-being. It’s lovely to be able to use it with children and animals too.

How does Reiki work?

As a Reiki therapist, I read and channel the ‘life-force’ into the receiver’s body, noticing any blocks in energies and gently supporting these to clear, so that a rebalancing is able to begin.

I use my hands, but also listen with my heart.
The recipient lies on a comfortable mat or table, fully-clothed, with blankets and cushions. I also might use crystals, chime bells or singing bowls to help support the process.

Treatments last about 50 minutes, in the beautiful Shepherds Hut, and I gently follow the energies with my hands, usually just above the body, although sometimes gently placing my hands in contact.

The Experience

Most people feel a deep sense of relaxation, and often people say things like ‘Well, I don’t know what you did but I feel really peaceful!’

Often people will talk about a feeling of warmth, or sometimes cold, where they have ‘felt’ my hands. Also there can be a sense of someone or something ‘other’ in the room, for example one lady speaks about feeling me at her head when actually I am down near her feet. I think this is the Universal Life Energy!

There can be an immediate sense of peace and over time, people talk about an increased feeling of well-being and connection to their own mind, body and spirit.

Reiki Boost

Saturday 6th April

I'm happy to announce a 'Reiki Boost' workshop!!! This is a lovely one day workshop, exploring how to use Energy Tools to enhance your Reiki. Connecting with the elements and using natural and everyday items can help us in turn tune in deeply to others on an energetic level. Come and explore working intuitively with a range of tools, including crystals, oils, rocks, flower essences, chimes, wood and pendulums. Discover how opening our senses to all that is around us can support us in linking deeply with our clients, and practice using Energy Tools which are easily accessible to all. This workshop is for anyone attuned to Reiki. Saturday 6th April, 11-5, in our lovely healing space on the river just outside Chertsey, Surrey. The exchange is £90 and includes lunch and light refreshments.

Reiki 1

Good news! I have a Reiki One training workshop coming up on July 13th and 14th. Do join me.

You will learn about Reiki history and how it works. You will receive ‘Attunements’, which attune you to the frequencies of Reiki energy, through a combination of symbols and mantras to connect you to the Universal Life Energy.

You then have the fun of practising, and the meditations and visualisations that support it.

This course takes place over two days, and you will receive the Reiki 1 attunements, so that you will be able to offer Reiki to family, friends and animals. We also explore how to use crystals, oils, sound and our own intuition to promote self-care, healing and well-being. We truly share a beautiful time.

Reiki 2

You will delve much deeper into this wonderful world, awakening further the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the Universal Life Energy.

You will receive more Attunements, and be given your Reiki symbols, and learn about how to use them. You will also learn how to give treatments and distance healing, how to balance Chakras and use the Reiki ‘chants’, also how to use crystals to support Reiki.

You will learn about how to set up as a practitioner, including the legal requirements and details about insurance.

After Reiki 2, once you have insurance, you will be able to give professional treatments.

This course takes place over two days, and you will receive the Reiki 1 attunements, so that you will be able to offer Reiki to family, friends and animals. We also explore how to use crystals, oils, sound and our own intuition to promote self-care, healing and well-being. We truly share a beautiful time.
